AL-LAIL (92)

The Night

Revealed At Mecca, Verses: 21 In the name of Allah, The Merciful, The All-merciful
  1. By the night when it envelops,(1)
  2. by the day when it brightens,(2)
  3. by the male and the female that He has created,(3)
  4. your striving is surely diverse.(4)
  5. Then, as for him who gives and is godfearing,(5)
  6. and confirms the good work,(6)
  7. We shall ease him to easiness.(7)
  8. And, as for him who is niggardly and carefree,(8)
  9. and gives lies to the good work,(9)
  10. We shall ease him to hardship;(10)
  11. and his wealth shall not avail him, when he falls down.(11)
  12. Surely Ours is to guide,(12)
  13. and to Us belong the Last and the First.(13)
  14. Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames,(14)
  15. none shall enter it except the most wretched,(15)
  16. he who cried lies and turned away.(16)
  17. And the most godfearing shall be kept away from it,(17)
  18. he who gives his wealth to purify himself;(18)
  19. and he owes not a favour to anyone that is to be recompensed,(19)
  20. except seeking of the attention of his Lord, the most High;(20)
  21. and he shall soon be pleased.(21)
