  4. He created mankindfrom a sperm drop, yet he is a clear adversary.
  5. And the cattle Hecreated for you. In them, you have warmth and other uses, and of them youeat.
  6. In them there is beauty for you when you bring them home and whenyou lead them to pasture.
  7. They carry your loads to a land which youcould not otherwise reach except by painful toil to oneself. Your Lord isthe Clement, the Most Merciful.
  8. (He has created for you) horses, mules, and donkeys, which you ride and as an adornment; and He creates what youdo not know.
  9. It is for Allah to show the way. Some swerve from it, buthad He willed, He would have guided all of you.
  10. It is He who sends downwater from heaven, which provides drink for you and brings forth trees onwhich your herds feed.
  11. And thereby He brings forth crops and olives, palms and vines, and all the fruits. Surely, in this there is a sign for anation who think.
  12. He has subjected to you the night, the day, the sunand the moon. The stars are subjected by His Command. Surely, in thatthere is a sign for a nation who understands.
  13. And what He hasmultiplied for you in the earth is of various hues; surely, in that thereis a sign for a nation who remember.
  14. It is He who has subjected the seato you, so that you eat of its soft flesh and bring up from it ornamentswhich you wear. And you see the ships plowing their course through it inorder that you seek His bounty and give thanks.
  15. He set firm mountainsupon the earth lest it should shake with you; and rivers, and roads, inorder that you are guided.
  16. And waymarks; and by the star they areguided.
  17. Is He who creates as he who does not create? Will you notremember?
  18. If you count the favors of Allah, you could not number them.Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and the Most Merciful.
  19. Allah has knowledgeof all that you hide and all that you reveal.
  20. But those whom youinvoke, other than Allah do not create anything - they are themselvescreated.
  21. They are dead, not living; and they do not know when they willbe raised (to life).
  22. Your God is One God. Those who do not believe inthe Everlasting Life their hearts disbelieve, and are puffed up withpride.
  23. Allah knows without doubt what they hide and what they makeknown. He does not love the proud.
  24. And if they are asked: 'What hasyour Lord revealed?' they say: 'Tales of the ancients, fairy-tales!'
  25. They shall carry their sins completely on the Day of Resurrection, andsome of the sins of those who were led astray by them without knowledge.Evil is that which they sin.
  26. Those who have gone before them alsoplotted. Then, Allah came upon their building from the foundations, andthe roof fell down on them from above them. And the punishment overtookthem from where they did not know.
  27. He will degrade them on the Day ofResurrection. He will say: 'Where are My partners, for whose sake youopposed?' And those to whom knowledge has been given will say:'Degradation today and evil are on the unbelievers,
  28. whom the angelstake while they were still harming themselves.' Then they will offersubmission, saying: 'We have done no evil!' No, surely Allah knows whatyou have done.
  29. Enter the gates of Gehenna (Hell) to be in it for ever.Evil is the lodging of the proud.
  30. It is said to the cautious: 'What hasyour Lord revealed?' They will reply: 'Good!' For those who did good inthis world is goodness; indeed the lodging in the Everlasting Life isbetter - an excellent dwelling for the cautious.
  31. They shall enter theGardens of Eden, under which rivers flow, and there they shall have allthey desire. So Allah recompenses the cautious,
  32. whom the angels takewhile they are goodly, saying: 'Peace be on you. Enter Paradise for whatyou were doing.'
  33. Are they looking for the angels to come down or theorder of your Lord to come? As such did those who have gone before them.Allah did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves,
  34. so the evilthings which they did coiled around them, and they were encompassed bythat they mocked.
  35. The idolaters say: 'Had Allah willed, neither we norour fathers would have worshipped anything other than Him, nor would wehave forbidden anything without Him', as such did those before them. Yetwhat should Messengers do but give a clear deliverance?
  36. We sent aMessenger to every nation, saying: 'Worship Allah and avoid the idols.'Amongst them were some whom Allah guided, and some justly disposed toerror. Travel in the land and see what was the end of those who belied(the Revelation and the prophets)!
  37. Though you are ever so eager toguide them, Allah will not guide those who mislead (others). There shallbe none to help them.
  38. They solemnly swear by Allah that Allah willnever raise the dead to life. No, surely the promise of Allah is bindingupon Him, though most people do not know.
  39. This is in order that He maymake clear to them that which they differed upon, and in order that thosewho disbelieve might know that they were indeed lying.
  40. When We decree athing, We only say: 'Be,' and it is.
  41. And those who after they have beenwronged emigrated for the Cause of Allah, We will lodge them with a good(life) in this world, but greater still is the wage of the EverlastingLife, if they but knew;
  42. such are those who are patient, and put theirtrust in their Lord.
  43. We never sent but men before you to whom Werevealed, ask the people of the Remembrance, if you do not know.
  44. (Wesent them) with clear signs and the Psalms. And We sent down to you theRemembrance so that you can make clear to people what has been sent downto them, in order that they reflect.
  45. Do those who do evil feel securethat Allah will not make the earth to swallow them, or that the punishmentwill not fall upon them from where they do not know?
  46. Or, that He willnot seize them in their going to and fro, and they will not be able tofrustrate Him?
  47. Or, that He will not seize them, a little at a time anddestroy them? Indeed, your Lord is Clement, the Most Merciful.
  48. Do theynot see how every thing Allah created casts its shadow right and left, prostrating itself before Allah in all humility?
  49. Everything in theheavens and every crawling creature on earth, and the angels prostrate toAllah and they are not proud;
  50. they fear their Lord from above them anddo as they are commanded.
  51. Allah says: 'Do not take to yourself twogods. He is only One God; so have awe of Me.'
  52. To Him belongs all thatis in the heavens and the earth. His is the Religion for ever. Would youthen fear any but Allah?
  53. Whatever favor you have is from Allah.Whenever you are afflicted you groan to Him.
  54. When He removes youraffliction then some of you set up associates to their Lord
  55. that theymay show ingratitude for what We gave them. So, take your pleasure, youshall soon know.
  56. They set aside a share of that which We have providedthem for what they did not know. By Allah, you shall be questioned aboutyour forgeries!
  57. They ascribe daughters to Allah - exaltations to Him!But they themselves would have what they desire!
  58. When good news of thebirth of a female is given to any of them, his face grows dark andinwardly he chokes.
  59. Because of the evil of the good news he hideshimself from people, (pondering) whether he will keep her and behumiliated, or trample her into the dust. Evil is their judgement!
  60. Those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, theirs is the evillikeness; and for Allah is the highest likeness. He is the Mighty, theWise.
  61. If Allah punished people for their sins, He would not leave onecreature that crawls on the earth. He reprieves them to an appointed term;when their term is come, they shall neither delay it by a single hour norcan they hasten it.
  62. They ascribe to Allah what they themselves dislike.Their tongues utter falsehoods (when they say) the finest of wages shallbe theirs. Without doubt, the Fire shall be theirs and they will behastened to it.
  63. Indeed, by Allah, We have sent Messengers before you toother nations. But satan made their deeds seem fair to them so that todayhe is their guardian, and a painful punishment awaits them.
  64. We have notrevealed to you (Prophet Muhammad) the Book except that you may clarifyfor them that upon which they differ, and as guidance and mercy to anation who believe.
  65. Allah sends down water from the sky with which Herevives the earth after its death. Surely, in this there is a sign forpeople who listen.
  66. Indeed, in the cattle there is a lesson for you. Wegive you to drink of that which is in their bellies, between the filth(bowels) and blood, pure milk, which is sweet to those who drink.
  67. Andthe fruits of the palm and of the vine, from which you derive intoxicantsand wholesome provisions. Surely, in this there is a sign for nation whounderstand.
  68. Your Lord revealed to the bee: 'Build your homes in themountains, in the trees, and in what they are building.
  69. Eat every kindof fruit, and follow the easy ways of your Lord.' From its belly comesforth a drink (honey) of many hues in which there is healing for people.Surely, in this there is a sign for a nation who reflect.
  70. Allah createdyou, and causes you to die. There are some of you who, after knowingsomething, will be kept back to the vilest state of life, knowing nothing.Allah is the Knowing, Powerful.
  71. In your provisions Allah has preferredsome of you above others. But, those who have been preferred do not givetheir provisions to those whom their right hand possess so that they mightbe equal therein. What, do they vainly disbelieve the favor of Allah?
  72. Allah has given you wives from among yourselves, and has given you andyour wives, sons and grandsons and He has provided you with good things. What, do they believe in vanity; do they disbelieve in the favor of Allah?
  73. Do they worship, other than Allah, that which has no power to providethem with anything either from the heavens or earth, and can do nothing!
  74. Therefore, do not strike parables for Allah; Allah knows, but you donot!
  75. Allah strikes a parable. A servant owned by his master, having nopower over anything, and one to whom We have given from Us a fineprovision who spends it secretly and openly, are they equal? Praise be toAllah! No, most of them do not know!
  76. And Allah strikes a parable. Twomen, one is dumb and powerless, a burden to his master - wherever he sendshim he returns with no good. Is he equal with one who orders justice andfollows the Straight Path?
  77. To Allah belongs the unseen of the heavensand the earth. The matter of the Final Hour shall be like the twinkling ofan eye, or even less. Allah has power over all things.
  78. Allah broughtyou out of your mothers' wombs, and gave you hearing, sight and hearts, inorder that you be thankful.
  79. Have they not seen the birds that aresubjected in the air of the heaven? Nothing holds them except Allah.Surely, in this are signs for those who believe.
  80. And it is Allah whohas given you houses in which to rest, and from the hides of cattle homesso they are light for you on the day you travel and on the day ofsettling; while from their wool, fur, and hair (He has given you)furnishing and enjoyment for a while.
  81. From the things He created, Allahhas given you a covering shade, and He has made for you refuges in themountains. He has given you garments to protect you from the heat, andgarments to protect you from your own violence. As such it is that Heperfects His favors upon you, in order that you submit.
  82. But, if theyturn away, your mission is only to give plain warning.
  83. They recognizethe favors of Allah, then they disbelieve them; most of them areunbelievers.
  84. On the Day We shall raise up from every nation a witness, then permission will not be given to the unbelievers, nor shall they beallowed to make restitution.
  85. And when the harmdoers see theirpunishment, it shall never be lightened, nor shall they ever be respited.
  86. And when the idolaters see their associates they will say: 'Our Lord, these are our associates on whom we called other than You.' But they willthrow back at them saying: 'Surely, you are truly liars.'
  87. On that Daythey shall offer to submit to Allah, and what they forged will forsakethem.
  88. Those who disbelieve and bar others from the Path of Allah, Weshall add punishment upon their punishment because they were corrupting.
  89. And on that Day We shall raise up from every nation a witness fromtheir own against them, and We shall bring you (Prophet Muhammad) as awitness against those. And We have sent down to you the Book makingeverything clear, as a guidance, and mercy, and glad tidings to those whosubmit.
  90. Allah orders justice, and good deeds, and giving to one'skindred. He forbids indecency, dishonor and insolence. He admonishes youin order that you take heed.
  91. Fulfill the covenant of Allah, when youmake a covenant and do not break your oaths after they have been confirmed(by swearing in His Name) for you make Allah your surety. Allah hasknowledge of what you do.
  92. Do not be like the woman who breaks herthread, after it is firmly spun into fibers, by taking your oaths as meremutual deceit, one nation being more numerous than the other. Allah triesyou with it. On the Day of Resurrection, He will clarify to you everythingon which you were at variance.
  93. Had Allah willed, He would have made youone nation. But He leads astray whomsoever He will and gives guidance towhomsoever He will. You shall be questioned about what you did.

  95. Do not sell thecovenant of Allah for a trifling price. What is with Allah is better foryou if you but knew.

  103. We know very well that they say: 'A mortal teacheshim.' The tongue of him at whom they hint is a non-Arab; and this is aclear Arabic tongue.

  105. Noneforge lies except those who disbelieve the verses of Allah - those, theyare the liars.
  106. Whosoever disbelieves in Allah after believing - excepthe who is forced while his heart remains in his belief - but he who openshis chest for disbelief, shall receive the Anger of Allah and for suchawaits a mighty punishment.
  107. That is because they loved this presentlife above the Everlasting Life. Allah does not guide the unbelievers.
  108. They are those whose hearts, hearing and sight are sealed by Allah; theyare the heedless.
  109. In the Everlasting Life, they shall assuredly be thelosers.
  110. Then indeed your Lord - to those who emigrated, after theywere persecuted, and then strove and were patient, surely, your Lord isthereafter Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
  111. On the Day when every soulwill come pleading for itself and when every soul will be recompensed infull for what it did - they shall not be wronged.

  115. These things alone He has forbidden to you: what is alreadydead, blood, the flesh of swine, what has been offered-up to other thanAllah. But to whoever is forced to eat any of these, neither desiring norwanting to transgress, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
  116. And do not say -what your tongues falsely describe - 'This is lawful, and that isforbidden,' in order to forge a lie about Allah. Indeed, those who forge alie about Allah shall never prosper.
